Andy Irvine Bassist
Detailed App Info:
Application Description
Andy Irvine, endorser of Warwick basses, is an internationally known bassist, recognized by his driving bass grooves, huge tone, ferocious soloing and song writing skills. Currently residing in the mountains of Colorado, his vast experience in performing, touring, and studio work has gained him respect among the industry, his bass peers, and most recently caught the attention of globally-known bass guitar manufacturer Warwick Basses.
His style of performing can best be described as holding down thick fundamental support lines, ripping aggressive bass solos, and all points in between. Irvine’s influences range from funk, soul, blues, jazz, gospel and various rock styles of music. With a playful musical personality and dynamic presence on the stage, Irvine radiates with passion and love for his craft everywhere he goes.
Irvine has toured with over 25 artists nationally and has delivered solid bass work contributions to over 50 successful albums, covering a wide range of styles. His most recent national tours includes Mississippi based piano virtuoso Eden Brent, Eddie Turner, On The One and Giant People. He has also led various groups himself including The Andy Irvine Group (blues/funk), Beanstalk (futuristic groove trio), and Project Mind Flip (all-star international electro/funk group). He has recorded on various albums such as Grammy nominated and legend Tiny Tim, shock-rock icon GG Allin, Porcupine Tree guitarist John Wesley, ”Queen of drum & bass” DJ Rap, and blues great John Alex Mason, to name a few. In Nov/Dec 2013, he will tour throughout Europe with his own band, The Andy Irvine Group.
In 2012 Andy was asked personally by FUNK icon Bootsy Collins to become a "professor" at his Funk University. Several of Andy's lessons and lectures are now part the Funk-U program, more educational segments are regularly being filmed in LA for ongoing use at Funk U.
