The Tale of Pigling Bland
Pigling Bland leaves home and gets lost in the woods. He stays the night at a chicken coop, where he meets a beautiful black Berkshire sow named Pig-wig. Pigling Bland discovers that the farmer intends to turn them into bacon, and the two pigs must work together to plot their escape.

The Tale of Samuel Whiskers
Mrs. Tabitha Twitchit has lost her son, Thomas Kitten. Have the rats, including old man rat Samuel Whiskers, something to do with the kitten's disappearance? Aided by John Joiner, a carpenter dog, the cats find out!

The Tale of Squirrel Nutkin
A mischievous red squirrel named Nutkin joins his brother Twinkleberry, their cousins and other squirrels as they gather nuts on Owl Island. But an owl named Old Brown lives on the island. Will the antics of Nutkin stir up trouble?

The Tailor of Gloucester
An impoverished tailor in the British city of Gloucester, his cat, Simpkin, and the mice that reside in the tailor's dwelling. The tailor, hired to make a fine coat for a Christmas Day wedding, lacks supplies and falls ill. Will the antics of Simpkin and the mice help save the day? Suffice it to say, this is a good story to read children anytime, but especially on Christmas Eve!

Mrs. Tabitha Twitchit, the mother cat, is expecting company for tea. She consequently dresses up her three kittens: Mittens, Tom Kitten, and Moppet. The kittens, however, head out to the garden and meet up with some ducks: with troublesome consequences!

The Tale of Two Bad Mice
Two bad mice, Tom Thumb and his wife Hunca Munca, leave their mouse hole to investigate a dollhouse. The two mice go on a destructive spree and steal a number of articles from the house. When the owner of the house, a little girl, finds the damaged dollhouse, she gets a doll dressed like a policeman, and Tom Thumb and Hunca Munca make amends.
