Emerging Infections Network (EIN)
Detailed App Info:
Application Description
The Emerging Infections Network (EIN) app provides a new tool to enhance
communication between IDSA EIN members - infectious disease physicians
and public health authorities - using a fast, secure method of performing quick polls.
The IDSA (Infectious Diseases Society of America) EIN is a CDC-sponsored
sentinel network of almost
1,600 infectious disease (ID) physician clinicians in North America
with a primary goal of assisting CDC and other public health
authorities with surveillance for emerging infectious diseases and
related phenomena.
The apps has four components:
- Seen It? presents moderated questions to EIN members about unusual or epidemiologically relevant
infections.
- Treated It? presents moderated questions about treatments and outcomes for unusual infections.
- Read It! allows users to view RSS feeds from multiple infectious diseases-related journals
- Reading List provides a personalized means of organizing and viewing articles from the Read It! section.
Access to the Seen It? and Treated It? question components requires login using EIN membership
credentials.
Data collected from the app is securely stored on EIN servers at The University of Iowa.
