Application Description
The software provides for optionally specifying a narrow RPM search range to help select the correct tone from the noise. However, if the sound of the engine is too muffled, irregular, or obscured by other noises, it may be impossible to lock onto the true engine RPM sound, especially for very low RPMs.
As an alternative to the fixed RPM search range, you can designate a tracking mode to track gradual changes in RPM. You can configure the width of the RPM search range from 5% to 60% of the nominal value and select which harmonics should be used for the analysis.
The software is configurable for 2-cycle and 4-cycle engines and includes a generic configuration for unusual cases, such as a reduction gear. The overall RPM range is 400 to 90,000 RPM.
