Heterodyne is a project that scores roads and other journeys with original site-specific audio compositions. Through a collaborative process, artist Fiona Hallinan researches and selects specific locations, then invites composers to create sound pieces for them.

Heterodyne sets out to create an anthology of site-specific audio pieces for infrastructure throughout Ireland and internationally. These scores will be stored and made accessible through this location-based mobile application.

This version of the Heterodyne app offers listeners the opportunity to stream its first iteration, Five Scores for the Military Road. This application will go on to host future compositions created through Heterodyne for other locations.
