The Islamic Jewish Calendar for iPad displays the current date in both the Islamic and Jewish calendars. It also provides a tool to convert any date between these two calendars and will display the selected month’s calendar with dates in both the Islamic and Jewish calendars in addition to the months prior to and after the selected month. By default, the primary calendar is Islamic, but it can be changed to Jewish (see below).
It also enables you mark annual events (holidays, birthdays, anniversaries) in both calendars. The days of these events are displayed in red. Tapping on the red text displays the event description in popover view. See the How to section below.
The layout of the screen is a little different in portrait and landscape orientation but both consist of three regions.
Today Region: This region displays the current date in both calendars.
Monthly Region: This region will show the calendar of one month of the primary calendar. If you have navigated to a different month (see Date Conversion Popover below) than the current month, tap on the home icon to change it to the current month. Tap on the convert icon to display the date conversion popover. The conversion popover is described below. Tapping on the swap icon swaps primary and secondary calendars.
Other Months Region: This region displays one month prior to and one month after the month displayed in the Monthly Region.
Date Conversion Popover: This popover is displayed by tapping on the convert icon located at the bottom of the Monthly Region. This function can convert any date between the Islamic and Jewish calendars by using the two date pickers. Changing any of the six components will adjust the others accordingly. Tapping on the home icon between pickers will change the date to the current date. If the calendar icon located between the two pickers is tapped it will change the Monthly Region to the date selected on the picker. The Other Months Region will also change accordingly.
How to:
Islamic dates can be adjusted to match the moon sighting. To adjust, first make sure the primary calendar is Islamic. Then, navigate to the month to adjust and tap on the + or - icon under the calendar in Monthly Region. The adjustment information is save on the device. Frequent backup is recommended.
There are several ways to change the displayed month.

To add one or more annual events, tap on the “hand and pen” symbol at the top of Monthly Region. In the popover view, provide a month, a day, and a description. Then tap on the save button to save the information. You may enter as many events as you wish before dismissing the popover view by tapping anywhere outside of its boundary. The days corresponding to these events are displayed in red in both the Monthly Calendar and Other Months regions. If the selected day is beyond the number of days in that month, the event will be shown in the last day of that month.
To view the annual events associated with the red text, tap on the red text. All the events on that day will be displayed in a popover view. The list can be scrolled in case all the events cannot fit in the view. You may delete an event by tapping on the event in the list and then on the “Delete Selected” button.
