Lectures on Faith
Detailed App Info:
Application Description
The Lectures on Faith by Joseph Smith Jr. - bonus article included - King Follett Discourse. Read and study these two great works on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod.
These two works are great for anyone to understand some of the doctrines taught by the Prophet and the Mormon Religion.
The document "Lectures on Faith" is a set of seven lectures on the doctrine and theology of the Latter Day Saint movement, first published as the "doctrine" portion of the 1835 edition of the canonical Doctrine and Covenants, but later removed from that work by both major branches of the faith. It was presented by Joseph Smith, Jr. to a group of elders in a course known as the "School of the Prophets" in the early winter of 1834-35 in Kirtland, Ohio.
The King Follett discourse is an address delivered in Nauvoo, Illinois by Joseph Smith, Jr., president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, on April 7, 1844, less than three months before Smith's assassination. The discourse was presented to a congregation of probably more than ten thousand Latter Day Saints at a general conference held shortly after the funeral service of Elder King Follett, who had died on March 9, 1844 of accidental injuries. The sermon is notable for its claim that God was once a man, and that men and women can become gods through salvation and exaltation.
