Application Description
Welcome to Move Babel!
Stories of the Tower of Babel date back to biblical times or about 2000 BC. During this time people migrated from different parts of the world and decided to settle in a region called the Mesopotamia. An area between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers in the country we now know as Iraq.
The people built temples, or towers, to honor their God or Gods. Over time these towers were built, tore down, and rebuilt. Eventually a tower stood out among the rest. The Tower of Babel. The people built and built until it reached the heavens, so they could be closer to their “God”.
God eventually came down to earth to see the people and their Tower. God didn’t really want the people settling in only one part of the world. The intention was for people to inhabit the whole earth. So it was cast upon the people, different languages, so they could not understand each other’s speech. Thus, the word “Babel” was derived from this belief.
The location of the Tower of Babel is not known for sure, though people have their opinions.
Whether the story of the Tower of Babel is true is neither here nor there, you have a task to complete in this quest.
This task, bestowed upon you, by the people of the Mesopotamia, is to relocate or Move the Tower of Babel to a new location.
The game view is divided up into three columns or platforms. At the start of a game, the Tower sits on the first platform, left side of the view. You are to Move the Tower, completely rebuilt, to the third platform on the right side of the view.
The Tower consists of 9 separate floors, largest at the bottom, smallest at the top, shaped kind of like a pyramid. You are to use the three platforms to build and re-build by moving the Tower floors. You move floors by finger-dragging it to one of the other platforms.
Rules of Tower movement. You can only move…
-… one floor of the Tower at a time.
-… the top-most floor of each column.
-… a narrow floor onto a wider floor.
You will only be successful in the eyes of your peers when the complete Tower of Babel is rebuilt on the third platform (right-most) of the view.
