International Pizza Expo: The Largest Pizza Show in the World
This dynamic annual gathering of pizzeria owners, operators and managers is now in its 29th year and continues to grow in size and impact. In 2013, more than 7,000 attendees will be at Pizza Expo searching for new products and new ideas on an Exhibit Hall floor featuring approximately 1,000 booths manned by nearly 450 exhibiting companies.
Attendees also will expand their knowledge and profit-making potential by attending more than 80 workshops, seminars and cooking demonstrations, many of them given by fellow pizza professionals passing along practices that have made them highly successful operators.
Most major players from independent pizzerias in the U.S. and Canada, as well as operators from numerous other countries, will be at the show March 19-21. In addition, a special pre-show program is slated for Monday, March 18, with workshops and seminars for new operators and first-time attendees, plus a networking reception in the evening.
Events during the three days of the show include the World Pizza Games (which culminate in a grand finale of acrobatic dough-spinning during the Rockin' Party on Wednesday evening); the International Pizza Challenge, which crowns the Pizza Maker of the Year; and the Beer & Bull Idea Exchange, a networking and solutions-sharing session at day's end on Tuesday and Wednesday.
There will be keynotes by celebrity chef and TV host Robert Irvine and by Bill Jacobs, of Piece Brewery & Pizzeria in Chicago. A Craft Beer Pavilion is being added to the show this year to promote the natural pairing of pizza and beer among craftsmen in both industries.
