Application Description
1-2-Play is a fun basic mathematics app. It teaches toddlers aged 1-4 as well as intellectually challenged individuals in recognizing, counting and solving simple problems based on numbers 1 to 10 through fun and interactive stages.
1-2-Play has the following features:
* Profile
Each player will be able to create their own profile where they are able to enter a name, a short description, as well as selecting an avatar image. Profiles will enable recording of each player’s progress in the stages.
* Stages
There are 7 stages in total. Each themed stage will cover a particular topic in mathematics through fun and interactive game play.
- Who Am I
Match the number that is read out to the correct numbered kite that is displayed on screen.
- Arrange Me
Arrange the jumbled up numbered blocks into the correct ascending order sequence.
- Odd or Even
Sort the numbered blocks into the correct Odd or Even Potato’s mouth.
- Missing Link
Identify the missing number in the numbered sequence given and select the correct missing number.
- Count Me
Match the correct number symbol shown on the screen to the correct number of objects.
- Fill The Basket
Drag the correct numbers of apples from the tree into the basket.
- Solve Me
Solve simple addition/subtraction equations.
* Levels
There are 3 levels of difficulty for all stages: Level 1 covers only numbers 1 to 5; Level 2 covers only numbers 6 to 10; Level 3 covers numbers 1 to 10.
* Stickers and Sticker Album
The sticker album acts as an achievement/reward system which is employed to motivate and encourage players to get the right answers. Upon answering all questions correctly for each respective level of each stage will unlock a sticker. The respective sticker will then appear in the sticker’s previously grayed out area.
* For Intellectually Challenged Individuals
- Adequate Reinforcement of Correct Answer
In order to let intellectually challenged individuals know that they have selected the correct answer, flashing positive messages and congratulatory applause sound will appear once the correct answer is selected. In some stages, the correct answer will appear once again on screen for further reinforcement.
A wrong answer will generate a buzzer sound and in some stages, a red “cross” symbol on the wrong answer that was selected.
- Slower Speaking Speed for Audio Instructions
Audio instructions are spoken at a clear and slow pace in simple English for intellectually challenged individuals to be able to catch and understand what is required from them.
- Distractions Kept At Minimum
Potential distractions such as animations in the background at not minimized, to allow intellectually challenged users to give their full attention to the game itself.
- Easier Control
1-2-Play is designed to ensure easy control even for those who have less advanced motor skills.
