Asthma Pal
Detailed App Info:
Application Description
Asthma Pal's purpose is to provide physicians with the ability to rapidly create a handheld asthma action plan that can be provided to patients for asthma self management and enhance patient compliance with medication by providing reminders for scheduled medications through alarms (local notifications).
Your physician will help you by inputting the appropriate medications and setting up a peak flow volume for you into the app.
The app then calculates the three zones you may be experiencing in a normal day (green, yellow, red) and sets daily local notification alarms on your device to help you remember to take your medication. By entering your peak flow at any time at the top of the opening screen, you may see your action plan for your color. You may also email yourself your complete action plan for all zones with two button presses so that you can print it out for easier viewing.
This useful tool for your iPhone is brought to you by Wayne State University Department of Internal Medicine.
