BatApp
Detailed App Info:
Application Description
The Bat App is aimed at anyone wanting a concise guide to bats in Britain. It includes photographs, a description of each species and their ecology, as well as distribution maps and sonograms of their echolocation (using the Analook system). It will be especially useful as a field guide to those observing and working with bats at close quarters. Please note that bats are legally protected a licence is required to disturb and handle them.
A number of updates are planned including the addition of more photographs (including the harder to identify and newly discovered species such as the Alcathoe bat), and sound clips of their echolocation, and more . Over time we hope also to add species which may appear as vagrant or occasional visitors. We would welcome feedback on other ideas that would make this App useful!
The production team are active supporters of bat conservation in the UK.
