This app contains detailed information on the Royal Air Force Fighter Command during the Battle of Britain, its Commander, Aircraft and Squadrons which fought in this historic battle. The application also provides information on the key German Luftwaffe commanders and the planes used by the Luftwaffe during the Battle of Britain.
The Battle of Britain was the first major campaign to be fought entirely by air forces, and was one of the largest and most sustained aerial bombing campaign in history. The RAF victory of the Battle of Britain destroyed the once impressive reputation of the German Luftwaffe and forced Hitler to abandon the invasion plans of England (Codenamed Operation Sea Lion).
