Bible Memory for Students
Detailed App Info:
Application Description
The slides for these thirty verses have been developed using a “Word-Removal” strategy for Scripture memorization. Begin with the first slide by reading and re-reading the entire verse. Then swipe your finger to scroll to the second slide. You will notice that a few words have been removed but blanks remains in their places. Repeat the verse from beginning to end, including the words that have been removed. Then move to the next slide. More words will be gone. Again, repeat the verse, compensating for the missing words. Continue doing this until you reach the final slide that contains only blanks. Once you can say the entire verse looking only at these blanks, close your eyes and repeat the entire verse three times. And before you know it, the verse is memorized.
You will also notice a variety of colored backgrounds and fonts. These too have been included to aid in memorization. Many psychologists believe that colors affect not only a person’s mood but memory as well. Certain studies have shown that remembering black words on a white background is the hardest to memorize but when the words are in red, for example, memory retention is increased. Variety of colors, some suggest, has an effect on this as well. The purpose of the following slides is to implement both of these concepts—variety in both the color of the backgrounds and the fonts. Some of the slides, you will also find, will be more appealing to your eye than others. This was intentionally done to create the best overall memory retention experience.
May the Lord bless you as you seek to hide His Word in your heart. May the eyes of your understand be opened and your mind enlightened as you memorize and meditate on God’s Word.
