Detailed App Info:
Application Description
WorldLink’s Biblical Encouragement – Stop Smoking application provides encouraging Bible verses for the myriad of emotions and physical symptoms associated with trying to stop smoking. The app facilitates a personal and meaningful conversation between you and God.
Start by telling God how you are feeling today about your smoking. Addicted? Anxious? Doubtful? Frustrated? Losing your will? Met your goal? Missed your goal? Ready to give up? Struggling with backsliding? Tempted? Worried about lifestyle changes? Not seeing results? And more. Then let God encourage you through His word, the Holy Bible (New International Version).
Easy to use – simply select one of more than 35 popular emotions and symptoms dealing with smoking.
Personal - displays a series of relevant Bible verses specific to how you are feeling currently about your smoking.
Unique - includes a brief encouraging commentary on each verse.
The verses and comments will provide comfort and encouragement to you in a very personal and meaningful way.
For example, Robert has stopped smoking in the past, but continues to backslide and smoke every now and then. He launches the Biblical Encouragement – Stop Smoking application. He selects the STRUGGLING WITH … category. A sub-category is presented with more detailed options and he selects BACKSLIDING. The app displays:
“Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts. Let him turn to the LORD, and he will have mercy on him, and to our God, for he will freely pardon.” – Isaiah 55:7
COMMENT: God understands your struggle with smoking. He knows that you are not perfect and may cheat from time to time. When you do, admit your setback to God. He will remind you to keep the faith and continue your progression towards a healthier lifestyle.
Now Robert is remembering that he should rely more on God in his struggle with smoking. For one more bit of confirmation, he presses the MORE button. The app displays:
“You will again have compassion on us; you will tread our sins underfoot and hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea.” – Micah 7:19
COMMENT: God forgives your backsliding. He desires that you turn away from it. Put your situation behind you and renew your commitment to kicking the smoking habit.
Robert feels much better now. He marks the verse as a “favorite”, and then emails the verse as an encouraging note to a friend who is also trying to kick the habit.
