The Grand Palais presents the first retrospective devoted to Georges Braque for nearly forty years. Initiator of Cubism and inventor of collages, he was one of the pioneering figures of the early twentieth century, before refocusing his work on the systematic exploration of still life and landscape. The exhibition gathers artworks from around the world and offers a new interpretation of Braque’s work, putting it in the perspective of painting, literature and music of his time.
