The game begins with graphical images that start with either a consonant or short vowel sound such as a seal for the letter s. Translucent bubbles containing random letters float across the screen inviting your child to choose the bubble containing the letter that makes the beginning sound. As an example, a voice instructs "Choose the letter that makes the beginning sound of the word seal". The image of a seal appears in the upper corner of the screen. A further hint is provided as the voice pronounces the letter s. Your child searches the floating bubbles to find the correct letter.
