The Center for Digital Innovation (CDI) is a cross-disciplinary platform supporting research, design, and art-making of digital innovators. It has a physical computing workspace, an interactive performance blackbox, a SmartSpace lab space, and a lounge/classroom space. Inside D&I, it serves as the digital shop for students from different design directions to work on interdisciplinary projects. Within Tongji, it is a platform hosting SITP (Students Innovation Training Program) courses, internships and thesis projects in interactive design and technology directions. Internationally, it is an air harbor for researchers, designers, and artists worldwide to collaboratively conduct innovative research and art-making utilizing the emerging technologies. Current research at CDI are mainly along three directions: UI and InfoVis, interactive product and system, and interactive art.
