Clock Out!
Detailed App Info:
Application Description
"Clock Out!" allows kids to learn how to tell time in American English and Latinoamerican Spanish, in an interactive way. It has a digital and analog clock to practice, with a narrator who tells the time in the selected language. In addition, a game in which the kids must read an analog clock and select the corresponding time on a digital clock and vice versa.
"Clock Out!" is divided into two sections:
- Clock. In this section, an analog clock will be shown so you can move the minute hand in any direction to set time. After the time is set, a narrator will tell time in the desired language, and an analogic clock will show the time in a 24 hour format.
- Exercises. This section allows you to practice your acquired knowledge. Each exercise is randomly selected from the following options:
1. Analogic clock as a question, and four digital clocks as options to answer.
2. Digital clock as a question, and four analogic clocks as options to answer.
3. Time telling listening question and four digital clocks as options to answer.
The objective of the exercise is to get as many points as possible from answering the questions correctly, within a time limit. Two points are awarded to the player for each correct answer. After the third consecutive correct answer, the points will be multiplied by 2. The multiplier will continue to increment by one for each correct answer, until the multiplier reaches 10. If the question has been answered incorrectly, the score will be subtracted by 1. The rule of the multiplier also is used for the incorrect answers. Each and every question will have its own time limit. If the player does not answer the question before the time limit expires, it will be considered as an incorrect answer.
Before the beginning of the exercise, the following options can be selected:
- Change type: If the option is selected, all four types of exercises will be used. If it's not selected, the exercises will be analogic clock to digital clock, or time telling listening to analogic clock.
- Change format: If the option is selected, the digital clock will use the 24 hours format. If it's not selected, the digital clock will use the 12 hours format.
- Time: The exercise will have 1:00, 3:00, 5:00, or 10:00 minutes of time limit.
After finishing the exercise, the player will receive a results page, showing the total number of questions, total correct and incorrect answers, maximum consecutive correct and incorrect answers, and total points awarded to the player. The player can track his/her results with the high score board.
