Colic is a word that every mother learns to fear…..either by hearing about a friend’s colic child….or by experiencing the gut wrenching feeling of not being able to comfort or explain your own baby’s unrelenting cries. When my own child started “going to the dark side,” every evening around dinner, I tried everything to sooth her. I thought it was gas...nope….I thought it was an ear infection, hunger, diaper….but NOTHING SEEMED TO HELP!!!! My pediatrician, whom I adore and respect, told me to I had to learn to accept than my baby had something called “COLIC.” When I asked what that means, she said, “You baby is going to cry!” Trying to learn how to cope, I tried every old wives tale short of “liquor on the gums.” Quite by chance, I found that certain sounds seemed to break the spell of crying. The laundry room, then the vacuum cleaner…I was on to something! I started experimenting with noise apps on my phone and eventually decided that this was too good to keep to myself.

In my research I tried a few apps that had already been created; and even branched out into the visual stimulation apps that are out there….PRICEY!!!
