Counting with Dinosaurs is for young children 3 to 5 who are learning to recognize numbers and to count up to 10. It uses a set of cute child friendly dinosaurs and 2 young cave-children to help your children. The App has a narrator throughout to guide the children through their fun learning.

Counting with Dinosaurs uses dinosaur eggs which hatch into baby dinosaurs after a learning phase or completion of a task as the child progresses through the App. Two cave children, Raju and Tina, are included as ‘friends’ to accompany the child on their journey. The concepts included are listed below but are deliberately not the focus for the child; the focus is the learning, interaction and fun without referring to values or number lines etc.

This is a very basic counting App for the younger children, but it does include some material suitable for those children who are 5 or 6 too. The App includes:

•Number recognition for the numbers 1 to 10
o1 to 3, then 4 and 5, then 6 to 10
•It develops the child’s understanding of simple numerical value through the use of
oDinosaur eggs
oDinosaurs
oFingers
oNumbers
oCounting stones (counters)
•One more than and 1 less than (1 to 5 then 5 to 10) is included
•The number line is also included as a simple stepping stone challenge

At the end of the App the menu will take the child to the set of dinosaurs which have hatched and clicking on any dinosaur will take the child to that level so they can consolidate their basic understanding of numbers. The actual number skill exercises are randomly generated so revisiting any area by selecting a dinosaur doesn't mean doing the same counting problem again and again.
