Application Description
Three interactive and educational mini-games with the ideas of sustainability are specially designed to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Faculty of Science, Hong Kong Baptist University.
✪✪ RECYCLING FUN ✪✪
✔ LITTLE Effort ● BIG Change
Among the tremendous amount of waste we generate daily, some fraction can be recycled. Hence, if we can perform waste separation properly, we can reduce the burden of our landfills.
This game teaches you how to separate the wastes into 3-coloured bins.
✪✪ JOURNEY OF WATER PURIFICATION ✪✪
✔ Be Responsible ● Save Our Water Resources ● Reduce Water Usage
Sewage treatment process makes use of biological treatment to breakdown the dissolved organic matters in the sewage. Bacteria rapidly consume the organic matter and convert it into carbon dioxide and water.
This game simulates the process of the biological treatment. Level goes up as bacteria successfully convert the dirty water.
✪✪ POWER OF FOOD WASTE ✪✪
✔ Amazing Power of Our Food Waste
Food waste is one of the major challenges faced by modern society nowadays. Apart from raising the awareness on food waste reduction, biological treatment technology can be used to reutilize the residual resource in food waste.
By anaerobic digestion, organic waste is converted to biogas, which can then be burnt to release energy. This technology may be one of the solutions to the ever-increasing food waste problem.
In this game, you act as bacteria to convert waste into biogas. The more waste bacteria consume, the brighter the light bulb.
