The Hare and the Tortoise - enhanced iPad version
Detailed App Info:
Application Description
Our stories are beautifully illustrated and narrated and not only are they a joy to watch and listen to, but they can also help your child learn to read.
This is NOT another boring text synchronized reader – it uses beautiful illustrations which actually move around and zoom in and out of the screen to keep your child engaged while they listen to the narration.
This is a specially commissioned re-telling of the classic fable by Aesop and is about a race between a hare and a tortoise. The race takes place in Green Tree forest and follows the trials and tribulations of Henry Hare and Thomas Tortoise.
The “Read to me” mode does exactly what it says (pun not intended) and lets your child enjoy this wonderful story. They'll just love listening to the different voices in the specially recorded narration.
The words of the story scroll across the bottom of the screen with the current word highlighted as it is read and the story can be paused and resumed at any time.
The “I'll read” mode lets your child read the story at their own pace. As they read the story for themselves they just touch the word as it is read – the illustrations will change but they will not be fully animated in order that there is no visual distraction while they read.
This application contains the full book so once you've downloaded it you don't need an Internet connection to enjoy it time after time.
We hope you enjoy this special Moving Audio™ book and look forward to many more in the future!
