Application Description
This game is designed to better educate people who reside in or who visit New Mexico by testing their knowledge of where the tribal communities are located on the map. Often people will comment, “I have lived in New Mexico my entire life and did not realize there were so many tribal communities,” or “I have no idea where the various tribal communities are located.” Hence, this game was developed to expand one’s knowledge of the tribal communities of New Mexico.
There are a total of 22 federally recognized American Indian Pueblos, Nations, and Tribes. There are 19 Pueblos including the Pueblos of Acoma, Cochiti, Isleta, Jemez, Laguna, Nambe, Ohkay Owingeh, Picuris, Pojoaque, San Felipe, San Ildefonso, Sandia, Santa Ana, Santa Clara, Santo Domingo, Taos, Tesuque, Zia, and Zuni. The Jicarilla Apache Nation, the Navajo Nation, and the Mescalero Apache Tribe. Test your knowledge of their locations with this app, brought to you by the American Indian Program at New Mexico State University.
