The iPhone application iAventino (iPad version soon to be released) is a multimedia guide that accompanies the user through itineraries that explore the accessible and inaccessible archaeological remains of the Aventine hill in Rome.

The features of iAventino, organized under the categories of Locations, Itineraries, and Multimedia (audio and video), can be accessed through a menu. The user can configure and re-configure in real time the modalities in which to access information.

All the information contained in the application are also available in audio form for a more dynamic visiting experience.

Locations:
audio, text, and visuals (still images and video footages) describing the main archaeological sites of the Aventine hill, access to Maps for geo-referencing, i-postcard function for the delivery via email of electronic postcards depicting visited sites, scancode to access the content in the application concerning individual monuments

Itineraries:
Three thematic itineraries through the Aventine hill
itineraries are projected on a Google-generated map for easy navigation

Multimedia:
direct access to images and videos for a customizable visit


Virtual Reality:
virtual tour of 'invisible' hypogeal domus and 'visible' mitraeum
