Application Description
The iGreenButton® iPhone app provides citizens with secure and convenient access to their Green Button energy information. iGreenButton allows you to easily and securely, in an automated way, download your Green Button records to your iPhone or iPad anytime, and anywhere, and review this easy-to-understand data about their household or business energy usage.
The Federal Government Green Button Initiative provides Americans with the ability to download and easily review their online energy records from Green Button enabled energy websites and more portals in the future. As announced by the Obama Administration in March of 2012, Green Button records offer easy-to-understand data about household and business energy usage. The strategic focus of the Green Button initiative is to focus on developing cleaner and more efficient energy sources, and also on novel ways to help consumers conserve and save money.
And with this information in hand anywhere and anytime with the iGreenButton mobile app, consumers can take advantage of a growing array of online services that can help them manage energy use and save on their bills. The current version of the iGreenButton iPhone and iPad apps enable automated, secure access and download of Green Button records such as from the SDGE portal for San Diego County citizens. In future versions of the apps, Humetrix will offer more Green-Button enabled energy portals.
To access your Green Button download for a given energy portal, you must first enter in your personal account credentials for that portal under MyGreenButton on the iGreenButton Home screen. After credentials have been entered, then the download button for that portal will light up and be enabled on the iGreenButton app Home screen.

Green Button Resources ► The iGreenButton apps also provide you with a handy list of online Green Button and other energy-and-conservation services, including resources specific to given portals, which can be accessed through the ”Resources” button on the home screen.
State of the Art Security Features ► The iGreenButton app is password protected, and securely stores your personal energy information using state of the art data encryption. In the event that your iPhone or iPad is lost or stolen, your personal energy use and home or business address will not be put at risk of being disclosed to anyone and can be restored to a new iPhone or iPad if you have chosen to activate an iCloud back-up of the device. It is also important for you to know that your Green Button data is never transmitted to any other entity or website: it remains securely stored in your iGreenButton app as encrypted data. Additionally, your app has a built-in time-out lock-out feature, prompting you to re-enter your password after 5 minutes of inactivity (or anytime you close and reopen iGreenButton).
