Application Description

For iPhone4/iOS4 users, the database will be updated after the second load and please remove the app from running in the background to refresh the database. The app only refreshes its location database during startup and not while operating.
What Does It Do? :
Healthcare facility locator with a customized detailed information for each location, integrated with interactive news and multimedia content that are updated daily.
How Does It Help :
With iMedicMap, a tourist or any public in general will be able to locate the nearest medical facility to their location and get further details of each hospitals or medical centre before deciding to call for assistance. A search screen is added to assist user to list locations by category and 10 nearest locations to the user.
In addition to locating the medical facility, iMedicMap also pulls the latest news feeds that are related to public health such as health alerts and advisories.
Currently iMedicMap lists 202 public and private hospitals in Malaysia and we are in the process of validating over 1,500 private clinics and about 800 government clinics on their detailed information before updating the database in the server which the iMedicMap app will automatically synchronize when available.
Below is a summary of the main features :
1. It automatically suggests the nearest healthcare facility to the user's current location.
2. Location details contains information related to the service available at the location and customizable according to each facilities.
3. Suggests nearby locations and user can recalculate the list for users that are on the move.
4. Search features to find locations by name or category.
5. News section that are updated daily to display important healthcare related news.
6. Feedback capability to suggest new locations or contributing comments.
7. Locations database is updated at the server and automatically synchronized with database in the app.
