Flight instructors can use the Instructor Training and Endorsement Management (ITEM) table to manage training conducted and endorsements made. ITEM table links Part 61 with AC 61-65 in a powerful and dynamic way. Selecting the type of student and type of endorsement populates the ITEM table with the knowledge, proficiency and experience requirements from Part 61. Check off the requirements as they are met, e-mail summaries of daily or planned training to your students, and e-mail yourself endorsement records to fulfill recordkeeping requirements. Know at a glance the date of a student’s last solo endorsement, the wind conditions you specified, or when you last performed a maneuver with a student. This app helps CFI’s during the inevitable pre-endorsement logbook review, provides the formats for and can print the endorsements, simplifies endorsement record-keeping, and can aid in planning training. And your e-mails listing the subjects or maneuvers you plan to cover also helps your students prepare for their next lesson.
