The FREE Kid in Story Reader makes it easy to read visual stories, created with the Kid in Story app, to support learning and model social behavior.

Authors of Kid in Story books create custom visual narratives starring their student or child. They can easily share these personalized books via email or Dropbox. The FREE Kid in Story Reader will open the story (.kis file) so you can read it on your iPhone, iPod, or iPad.

Kid in Story uses LocoMotive Labs’ unique Locolens™ image editing technology to superimpose the child or student onto the provided backgrounds - similar to “green screening.” It’s simple! Kid in Story authors snap a portrait (or use one already saved in their library), and let Locolens™ pluck the “kid” out of the picture and place him or her in the story. As narration, they record their own voice or the child’s voice for each page. Once complete, children will enjoy reading their very own personalized visual story and sharing it with others.

Kid in Story is developed by an award-winning team of game designers and developers closely collaborating with parents, speech and language pathologists, and educators to design a visual story app that is inspired by children with autism, Down syndrome, ADD, ADHD, auditory processing issues, and cognitive disabilities.
