A basic knowledge of Basque can be acquired through the application kxo! Ikasi euskara / Aprende euskera / Learn Basque / Apprenez le basque.

The user will be able to browse it in Spanish as well as in English and French.

This application aims to provide a first approach to Basque, and sets out to provide anyone with only a limited knowledge of Basque or none at all with the tools for managing in Basque in everyday situations.

This application allows one to learn basic Basque vocabulary on the following topics:
•Getting going: numbers, calendar, alphabet, etc.
•Greetings
•Meeting people: introductions, countries, professions, family, etc.
•Weather and time: days of the week, months, seasons, weather, etc.
•Addresses and locations: places, personal objects, shops, transport, public services, finding one’s way, etc.
•Food and drink: soft drinks, meals, desserts, paying, etc.
•Shopping: clothes, footwear, colours, paying, fruit, quantities, etc.

To learn this vocabulary, phrases and words as well as simple dialogues can be learnt on each of the above topics. The methodology to teach these phrases and dialogues is as follows: each topic starts with a presentation of the basic vocabulary. So the user will be able to see how the vocabulary items are written, and listen to them to see how they are pronounced. This is followed by listening, speaking, reading and writing exercises which the user can do to enable him/her to assimilate the language items.

Erabiltzaileak gaztelaniaz, ingelesez nahiz frantsesez nabigatu ahal izango du bertan.

Aplikazio honek euskararako lehen hurbiltzea izan nahi du, eta bere helburua da euskaraz ezer ez dakienari edo euskara apur bat dakienari ohiko egoeretan euskaraz komunikatzeko tresnak eskaintzea.

Aplikazio honen bidez, era erraz eta atseginean ondorengo gai hauei buruzko hiztegia ikas daiteke:
•Lehen urratsak: zenbakiak, egutegia, alfabetoa...
•Agurrak: kaixo!; kaixo, zer moduz?
•Pertsonen arteko harremanak: aurkezpenak, herrialdeak, lanbideak, familia...
•Denbora eta orduak: asteko egunak, hilabeteak, urtaroak, eguraldia...
•Helbideak eta tokiak: dendak, garraioa, zerbitzu publikoak, nola iritsi toki jakin batera...
•Janariak eta edariak: freskagarriak, jatorduak, postreak, ordainketa nola egin...
•Erosketak: arropa, oinetakoak, fruta, kopuruak...

Jakintza hori eskuratzeko, haietako gai bakoitzari buruzko oinarrizko esaldi edo hitzak ikas daitezke, eta gainera, gai horiei buruzko elkarrizketa laburrak lantzen dira. Metodologia hau erabiltzen da esaldiak eta elkarrizketak irakasteko: hasiera batean, gai jakin bati buruzko oinarrizko hiztegia aurkezten da. Erabiltzaileak esaldia eta elkarrizketa horiek idatzita ikusteaz gain, entzun egin ahal izango ditu. Ondoren, hiztegi hori barneratzeko, entzumen-ariketak, mintzamen-ariketak eta irakurri eta idazteko ariketak egin ahalko ditu.
