Application Description
Take a picture or select a picture from the iPad camera roll then record your voice describing the picture to create a talking photo.
Create individual talking photo galleries for multiple storytellers so it's easy to organize and conduct recording session without having to keep track of which photo belongs to whom.
Create individual profiles for each story teller in the LegacyStories family history archive then upload talking photos to each separately while maintaining security. From there you can share your talking photos by email or the most popular social networking sites.
Common uses can be:
1. Take a photo of an ancestor's photo or document and tell the story behind it, passing on important family history to future generations. Sometimes the people in old photos may as well be strangers to grandchildren.
2. Create a story thread by recording multiple talking photos in sequence.
3. Use the app for school projects to easily collect the living history of local citizens or veterans
SPECIAL NOTES:
a. You will receive a popup message when clicking on "Use iPad Photos", requiring your permission to allow access to existing photos already taken on the iPad. The message may seem scary in that it asks for permission for access to your location which only means the location of the photos on the iPad.
b. Once you've uploaded your talking photos to the LegacyStries website you can visit the site to link them to one of over 3.5 billion ancestor records in the world's official family tree of humankind.
c. Creating talking photos is fun and engaging while at the same time you are building your personal collection of personal history, making a meaningful contribution to the living history of our time.
