Among the definitions of a lexicon is "a special vocabulary" and this is the lexicon of the National Ground Water Association that contains more than 1900 groundwater-related terms in an easy-to-search format.

The terms were selected by a task force of industry professionals—hydrologists, environmental consultants, water well contractors, industry manufacturers and suppliers, and more—all of whom work in the groundwater field every day.

The lexicon contains words and terms with the most relevancy to various groundwater professions and to the use, protection, remediation, and management of groundwater. While there are often regional differences in the use of some terms, the lexicon is an ideal collection of the definitions that relate to groundwater or those that work with it every day.

This is a useful tool for students studying hydrology, hydrogeology, or other environmental fields as well as those already working in groundwater-related professions.

Features include:
Easy to read detailed definitions
Images of some terms
Ability to search by term, text in a definition, both, and partial words.
References on some terms to similar definitions on some terms.

It is a living document and will be modified and updated from time to time.
