The Mobile Augmented Reality Wind Turbine Positioning Simulator (MARWind) is an application which allows the user to create and position wind turbines on a map screen. The user can then view the turbine configurations as models geo-positioned and overlaid on the surrounding environment.

The application utilizes the device's location services to establish the
geographic position of the user and the orientation of the mobile device. The generated wind turbine configurations are viewed in conjunction with the devices built-in camera.

Moving between the map screen and the model viewing scene is accomplished by pinch-zoom manipulation. Placing turbines on the map screen is done by a tap-and-hold action.

This application was developed by Purdue Calumet CIVS under FIPSE grant P116B100322 from the U.S. Department of Education. The contents of this application do not necessarily represent the policy of the U.S. Department of Education, and endorsement by the Federal Government should not be assumed.
