MathBrush is an iPad app that recognizes mathematical expressions as you draw them. It supports variables and functions, not just numbers, and recognizes a wide range of mathematics, including polynomials, integrals, and matrices. Save your expressions for later, or export them for a document or website. MathBrush exports LaTeX, MathML and image formats, which can be viewed on-screen or shared by email.

MathBrush currently supports the following types of expressions:
•Polynomials
•Fractions
•Square roots
•Equations and inequalities
•Unary negation
•Multiplication (using * or invisible times operator)
•Superscripts
•Subscripts (must be variables or numbers)
•Indefinite and definite integrals
•Indefinite and definite sums and series
•Matrices
•Trigonometric functions: sin, cos, tan, exp, log, and ln.
•Single-character variables

MathBrush allows you to handwrite an expression and it generates a picture of the typed version to include in a report, the LaTex form of the expression to include in a LaTex document, or a MathML form to include in a web page. MathBrush also allows you to share your expressions with other MathBrush users to edit and change or to share any of the previous formats.

In future versions, MathBrush will provide handwriting training modules to allow for better recognition of your handwriting. MathBrush will also allow you to apply mathematical operations on the expressions you write to obtain results.
