Application Description
Math app for youngsters learning early addition and subtraction. Enjoy progressing from simple addition (0 to 5) through more difficult subtraction (0..20). Collect trophies during races or just answer problems for practice.
The educational goal of the app is to help youngsters to know (remember) the answers to basic math problems instead of calculating them. Most already "know" that 1 + 1 = 2. Through practice they will eventually know that 5 + 2 = 7 without having to count five, six, seven.
The application offers two modes (Practice and Racing).
In Practice mode youngsters are not timed and will receive a visual aid for any math problem missed. Youngsters should spend time in the Practice area for a level as they learn that problem set.
In Race mode youngsters can earn trophies based on speed and number correct. The final time for the race is the time it took to complete plus any penalty seconds for missed problems. The penalty for misses increases as the race track difficulty increases.
Math problems are grouped into seven different race tracks or levels:
Addition 0..5 (0+0, 0+1, through 5+4, and 5+5)
Addition 1..12 (1+1, 1+2, through 12+11, and 12+12)
Subtraction 0..5 (5-5, 5-4, through 1-0, and 0-0)
Mixed 1..5 (Addition 1..5 and Subtraction 1..5)
Subtraction 0..10 (10-10, 10-9, through 1-0, 0-0)
Mixed 1.10 (Addition 1..10 and Subtraction 1..10)
Subtraction 1..20 (20-20, 20-19, through 2-1, and 1-1)
Up to five user accounts can be created and tracked.
