Mathstrainers Pro
Detailed App Info:
Application Description
Number Practice for lifelong learning. For toddlers to teenagers and beyond. Allows targetted practice of seven different number skills at five levels: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division; general arithmetic, decimals or place value, and integer arithmetic.
First mode of operation:
General practice allows the user to develop confidence with whatever level they choose, moving on to a higher level as they feel comfortable. The user is shown how they are getting on as they progress with a running tally which can be reset as required. The target is to get all questions correct before moving on. The first level is aimed at the young child or low confident individual.
The highest level will challenge most if they choose to practice in timed mode.
Timed mode of operation: against the clock, the user is given a number of questions to answer and their result (time taken, date, difficulty level, name, score) is stored for viewing later, via the Results page. If the time taken is particularly quick a trainer icon is displayed in the results panel. A tick is also displayed if all questions are answered correctly. To achieve a tick and trainer icon indicates that the user has developed proficiency at the selected level.
Head-to-Head mode. Once installed on two devices, two players can play against each other, via bluetooth. Players can select different trainers and different levels to make the gameplay competitive and fair. For example, one player may be at the lowest level of addition and the other may be at the highest level in integers.
The multiple choice drill app that now has options for entering values.
Questions are generated by Maths Teacher created algorithms so the combinations of questions are completely random.
Designed to run on newer versions of iPod touch, iPhone, or iPad with support for operating system versions IOS5 and IOS6. Older devices have legacy support by downloading the original version of Mathstrainers.
. There are no in-app purchases to worry about children selecting and no annoying ads to distract. The interface is designed to be as simple as possible so concentration on practice is unhindered. There are no annoying jingles or tunes, if required to be used in the classroom - just practice and challenge to provide progression with numeracy.
