This application is designed for members, staff, students and faculty of the MIT Media Lab. As a representative of a Media Lab Member company, it can be overwhelming to try and understand all of the various aspects of what goes on at the MIT Media Lab. That is understandable, as there is a lot happening at the Media Lab and there are many different projects, groups, events and people that all act as moving pieces in a large ecosystem of innovation.

The Member Connect application was designed and developed by Roundarch Isobar, a Member of the Media Lab, to help make the experience of being a Member of the Media Lab a bit more personal. This application will change often as we take ongoing feedback from users and our design process surfaces new exciting features that we will include.

What does the application do? This app is intended to provide insight to members on people, research areas (groups) and projects that take place inside those groups. Also, the MIT Media Lab produces a lot of different events, from annual Member events to ongoing webinars, lectures and unconferences. This application will provide an updated calendar of events to Members, making it easy to keep up to date on the happenings inside the Media Lab.

Lastly, this application includes some new technologies that have blossomed inside the MIT Media Lab. At launch, we are including functionality from Pixels.io, which allows two different users to select the "connect" feature in the application, point their phone screens at one another, and "connect" by exchanging contact details.

The MIT Member Connect application is also tied to the MIT Media Lab Glass Infrastructure, allowing users to "charm" people, projects and groups both inside and outside the MIT Media Lab.

In order to use this application, you will need to sign into the application using your MIT Media Lab Member credentials.

**In the spirit of the MIT Media Lab, this application is "always in beta". This means that we are likely to change this experience over time, add new features and work with the Members of the Media Lab to improve the experience with every iteration.**
