Detailed App Info:
Application Description
The Eskom App will be marketed to all Eskom prepaid customers at the onset to ensure that they have mobile access to “keeping the lights on” messaging & CSOnline, which is Eskom’s Customer Services Department.
Here is an overview of the App’s functionality:
1.A mobile user downloads the app from the chosen app store.
2.Each user will be presented with a dashboard based on their geographical location:
a.displaying a tip (relevant to the temperature of the area),
b.the time,
c.appliances that should be switched off,
d.and an indication of the National Power Status.
3.My Profile – this section allows the user to set up their profile, including setting up which appliances are used in the household
4.National Power Status – Feed pulled from Power Alert
5.Power Outage Information (101) – Content covering outage basics, outage causes, what to do and a checklist
6.Loadshedding – Currently Eskom is not loadshedding however if this instance becomes a reality, the App will link through to the Loadshedding website
7.Talk to Eskom – This is a basic form a user can fill out to send to query to CSOnline (an email is received by the CSOnline system, and the query is dealt with as per normal CSOnline process)
8.Online Customer Services – This is a direct link to the CSOnline website
9.Features – This gives the user a basic overview of what the App offers
