MySwan
Detailed App Info:
Application Description
MySwan allows members of the public in Victoria, Australia to report sightings of black swans wearing research tags (collars) and keep tabs on the whereabouts of their favourite swans. Information from these 'citizen scientist' reports contributes to a database used by researchers from the University of Melbourne to learn more about the biology of these beautiful and iconic birds.
Submitting a report via MySwan is easy. Simply select the colour of the collar worn by the bird you saw, enter its number and take a picture of the bird if you're close enough. Then submit the report. You'll get instant feedback about the bird you saw, with information about its age, pairing status and history, and you can view a map illustrating where it has recently been. You can also use the 'Find' screen in the App to get an update on your favourite swans.
