MyVocab is an easy to use vocabulary trainer for your pocket. Therewith you can practice the entries you created, when and wherever you want.

You are able to create any amount of vocabulary lists or rather units, without having to cling to specific languages. Your own language respectively the language you would like to practice in, can be chosen freely. The only requirement being is that both languages use the latin alphabet. After creating vocabulary lists those can be filled with content, e.g. vocabulary. The number of entries is not limited. Having created a list, a query can be started. Vocabulary for individual units will be selected randomly from the list(s) requested. You can keep track of your learning progress via statistics for every unit.

MyVocab does not contain any predefined vocabulary lists except for a test unit, since it is meant to be used for generating user-defined sets of vocabulary and by entering words a first learning effect is achieved.

Vocabulary lists can be set up online as well at www.myvocab.de. After completion you will receive a code, which allows importing of the compiled dictionary into your iPhone. In addition you will be given opportunity to load dictionaries established by other users.

From version 1.4 you can sync your vocabulary lists with an online database and manage them via a web interface. Please register at www.myvocab.de to use this feature.

From version 1.5 you can study according to the “flashcard principle” based on the Leitner Learning System by activating the “flashcard”-option in your app settings. This will help you to gradually move new vocabulary from your short-term to your long-term memory. Already memorized words will be retrieved less frequently than those not yet memorized. This will make your learning experience more effective and efficient since you’ll avoid frequent repetition of vocabulary you’ve already memorized.
