This app provides real time information on energy use and environmental conditions at the White Collar Factory Show Suite at Old Street Yard. The app is a simple, easy to use interface with the building’s cooling, heating and ventilation systems. Information is taken from energy meters recording energy consumption for lighting, heating and cooling systems, and plug in loads as well as temperature sensors in the building.

The White Collar Factory is a new approach to office design to meet the demands of current and future regulations, increasing expectation for quality environments by users, and adaption to climate change. The building’s façade design varies to suit orientation and solar gains allowing increased transparency to the north with increased shading to the east, south and west. The building can be naturally ventilated through simple openings, and is cooled using concrete core cooling which activates the thermal mass of the structure.

The Show Suite is a fully operational prototype of this concept located at Old Street Yard off City Road, London. The prototype represents the proposed development for a 15-storey office building on the same site.
