Since the beginning of time, people have looked to the heavens and tried to figure out their place in the universe. Now you can get a taste of what they tried to do with Osiris, the Solar System Scavenger Hunt! Set a location for the Sun and for the Earth, to define the distance between them (aka the Astronomical Unit). The other planets' locations will be determined in latitude and longitude on the map. Follow the map to create a scale model of the Solar System in your neighborhood. Or, with a location aware device, take a hike through the Solar System in real time and see if you can find all of the planets using Augmented Reality.

This app is based off a second grade science project. It is named after Osiris, the Egyptian god of the dead. There is an hypothesis that says that the Pyramids at Giza and elsewhere were placed in an attempt to map out the constellation Orion, which was associated with Osiris; they may have literally been trying to bring the heavens down to earth.

Plan your own science project, get some exercise, and learn about the Solar System with Osiris!
