Application Description
Chinese Pu Tong Hua + English Text-to-Speech Program.
"Clear Sky" (non-Cloud) version, no on-line connection is required.
Effective tool for learning Pu Tong Hua (Mandarin). The program reads out text from txt files and internal Web Browser in Pu Tong Hua.
Major functions:
1. support Traditional and Simplified Chinese characters
2. read out Chinese and English text in TXT files and web pages
3. variable speed
4. display PinYin
5. recognize PinYin, e.g. type in
@(=pu3=)@(=tong1=)@(=hua4=) will read out "Pu Tong Hua" in Mandarin.
6. support iTune File Sharing for file transfer
7. work in off line mode (no internet connection)
8. Simplified to Traditional Chinese transform in Edit Mode
The English TTS engine is adopted from CMU Pocketsphinx library, the CMU Flite library, MIT’s MITLM library, and Politepix’s OpenEars.
