A simple and safe file renaming solution for everyone, on sale for just $0.99!

Rename your photo collection using meaningful names. Organize your MP3 or iTunes music library with artist, song, album and track numbers. Access the EXIF metadata in your digital photography.

Simply browse for files, use our wildcard search, or drag and drop them into the app!

Renaming is fast and you see your changes as you type. Simple Mode allows you to use easy presets to change the file name or rename music files. Advanced mode gives you precise control with the following actions:

Change file name, Remove file name, Add sequential numbers, Replace text, Change case, Add prefixes, Add suffixes, Insert dates, Change extension, Insert Audio Metadata (MP3 and AAC), Insert Photo Metadata (Exif)

The app can rename your files using any available MP3, AAC and Exif metadata tags: the list of available tags is extracted directly from your files.

Need to rename directories? Switch to directory mode in the preferences window and you can do just that!

What's new in 4.0? This major update is based entirely on your feedback:

-OS X Lion compatible
-More intuitive interface
-Searches for all files within added folders
-Perform wildcard searches for files
-Sort files by name, creation date or modification date
-Multithreaded to work with a large number of files seamlessly

I read all of your reviews and want to respond to a few frequent issues:

1) The app is slow because it copies files instead of simply renaming the originals:

This is a safety feature: the app defaults to making copies unless you explicitly state that you want to overwrite the originals. To improve performance select "delete originals". Then the app will rename the files directly and not make copies.

2) The app doesn't properly edit metadata like ID3, EXIF, etc

The app is not a metadata editor. It simply accesses existing metadata in your files and can use it to rename your files.

For example, if you have a file named "4 Ton Mantis.mp3" it is not descriptive and won't sort well in Finder. However, if that file contains metadata about the artist, album and track number you can use that data to rename the file "Amon Tobin - Supermodified - 04 - 4 Ton Mantis.mp3". Now when you sort your files they will be grouped by Artist, Album, and in track listing order. (Try the MP3 preset to do just that).
