What is REVISION 2012?
What happens, when hundreds of creative computer artists from all around the world gather for four days to compete in various competitions? It leads to stunning computer animations and -graphics, which inspire the participants and interested visitors to enter the fascinating world of computer art.
Therefore, the university city and economic capital of the Saarland, Saarbrücken, gears up for the computer art festival REVISION 2012
From Good Friday to Easter Monday everything in the E WERK Saarbrücken revolves around digital, computer-generated art. The so-called "Demoscene" gathers for a creative contest and hundreds of participants from more than 30 countries are expected.
The event offers a unique platform for creative people, who want to get the most out of their computers with todays multimedia possibilities. Hence, the approximately 20 competitions - in addition to seminars and the international exchange of knowledge and experience - are the highlight of the festival. The participants compete in the areas of programming, animation, music and graphics.
All works are presented on a big-screen and the best entries are selected from the audience. At the end of the event, the winners can look forward to attractive prizes.
However, the participants aren’t just working hard and polishing their competition entries until the last minute – there is also a lot to enjoy. The visitors can meet old and new friends from all over the world, enjoy the social program and relax in a comfortable outdoor area.
REVISION 2012 is build on the great success of the inaugural event from 2011 where more than 800 people celebrated digital art and submitted over 300 quality entries into the competitions. With a finetuned concept, great enthusiasm from the organizers and a very exciting location, it is ensured that the Demoscene can continue to express its creativity to the fullest.
Due to its thrilling mix of art, technology and international communication, REVISION will provide a unique experience for all its visitors.
REVISION is organized by the non-profit association Tastatur und Maus e.V., whose members are long-time active in the demoscene. The association was founded in 2008 with the goal to support the demoscene, especially by organizing computer art events, so called "demoparties". Apart from REVISION the association also organizes another big demoparty in Germany, "the Ultimate Meeting" (tUM) in Karlsruhe and supports various other events all around Europe.
