Shade Builder offers handmade bespoke Lokta lamp shades.
We use the finest quality fair traded lokta papers, which are naturally dyed using various techniques. Every shade is handmade in the UK.
With shade builder you can select the size and shape of your bespoke lamp shades, then choose from our wide range of stunning Lokta papers to complement your home decor.
About our shades -
* Every shade is handmade in Anglesey, UK.
* Rigid PVC backing applied - hard shade
* 30 Lokta paper options to choose from
* Square frames - 20cm, 30cm or 40 cm - you choose your top/bottom frame
* Round frames - 15cm, 25cm or 35cm - mix and match your top/bottom frames
* Lamps can be made up to 45 cm tall
* Courier shipping within the UK

Lokta paper is made from the inner bark of the Daphne Papyracea bush - which grows above 6500ft in the Himalayas. The root system is not damaged, therefore the plant regenates and is harvested every three years.This sustainable paper is strong, chemical and acid free. Batik papers are used to great effect in many of our designs, where wax is applied prior to being dyed - with stunning results. When light shines through these batik papers the results are stunning.
