shmob is a new way to create casual, on-the-fly events with friends. shmob allows you to share your current interests with your fellow shmob-ers and create get-togethers on the go with friends who share the same interests. shmob events are informal - combine your current interest with a short description and let the rest come together as you chat it out.

Don't want to get annoyed by invites to events that don't match up to what you are feeling right now? shmob makes sure that you only receive invites to events that match your current interests.

How it works:

* Broadcast your interests to your friends by selecting your interests on the "Interests" tab
* Jump over to the "Find Friends" tab to find friends with similar interests around you
* Click on the friends you want to join your shmob
* Create an event with your shmob and give them a description of what you have in mind
* They'll get an invite on their "Inbox" tab and, if they accept, you all join a chat room
* Forget to add a friend to an event? Easily add them to a chat after you've already gotten going
* If you want to take some time off from sharing your interests and whereabouts with your friends, head over to the "Settings" tab to turn on privacy mode - shmob will no longer monitor your whereabouts or interests (note that when shmob is in this mode you will not be able to see your friends' interests or locations)

Notes:

* shmob requires a Facebook account
* shmob currently only works with iOS 5+
* shmob will not drain your battery - shmob is set up to use new iOS technology when running in the background to ensure that your GPS is turned on as infrequently as possible. Although the GPS arrow may remain present in your status bar while the app is in the background, this simply means that shmob is registered for location, not that shmob is actively using GPS. Rest assured - GPS is turned on as little as possible in the background to ensure that shmob stays out of your way when not in use.
