Solo Peg is a fascinating and intriguing board game for one player called Solitaire in the United Kingdom and Brainvita in India.

This game involves movement of pegs on a board with holes or indentations. 
The standard game fills the entire board with pegs except for the central hole. The object of the game is to finish the game with only one peg remaining on the board, preferably in the centre hole.



How to Play



You can remove a peg by jumping over it with another peg. A valid move is one, which makes a peg jump immediately over an adjacent peg into a hole two positions away in any direction and then to remove the jumped peg.

When you have just one peg left in the board – WOW! Well done – you’ve won!

There are different types of boards varying in the number of pegs and shapes.

History

This game was popular throughout Europe in the 1800s.

It is believed that a French prisoner in the Bastille invented the game during the 17th century. It was called Solo Noble then. There are few other sources that believe that the invention of the game should be attributed to Native Americans but there is no real evidence to support either claim.
