Application Description
This app features 140 beautiful images of the night sky over Australian Landscapes, taken by award-winning Astrophotographer Mike Salway. Content is otherwise identical to Astronomy Calendar 2014. Note that maps and events relate to US and Canada, not Australia.
The many images feature as background to the calendar pages or can be viewed on their own or saved to your photos. It’s worth having for the photos alone!
The app has all the features of the iPad Calendar, with extras such as moon phases, rise and set times, eclipses, conjunctions and meteor showers!
The app is fully compatible with the iPad calendar, so that appointments and events can easily be transferred both ways.
Other features:
· Daily time line featuring rise and set times of the Moon and planets.
· Special Moon chart with terminator line marked for the present day.
· Nightly moon phases on month view
· Summary of the year indicating best time to view the planets.
· Monthly Star maps show sky to the East, West, South and North, designed for 35° to 55° north latitude.
· "Red letter days" remind of the most prominent ten or so events for the year.
· Additional Star Maps show the planets in the pre-dawn and post-sunset sky, especially showing interesting conjunctions of the planets with the Moon.
