Splash Dive Site Logger
Detailed App Info:
Application Description
Help to build the world's most comprehensive database of dive sites and facilities.
Business owners can enter information about their shops, resorts or other dive related facilities.
Divers, both pro and recreational, can enter dive site details in just a few seconds.
The data will be used as the beating heart of a forthcoming dive logbook app.
Although the app allows you to enter all sorts of notes and details, from site features, topography, bottom composition, depth ranges and visibility through to the likelihood of big animals putting in an appearance, you can join the effort in just a few seconds by supplying only the essential information…
1) Name.
2) Country - the app will even grab that, and other location info, from a reverse geo look up if you are in a wifi or 3g area.
3) Longitude and latitude - grabbed by the iPhones GPS.
4) Whether the recorded location is one of 4 options - above the site, a short swim in, a nearby mooring and nowhere near (this last option allows you to enter details whilst on land and update while at the dive site).
More information is happily received but the minimum is quick and easy to do.
In fact, if you don't know the other information don't guess, leave it blank.
You have the option to submit your name and website details along with the data submitted. If you have written a detailed note on a dive site that gets used in the forthcoming dive logbook app, those details will be displayed in the app along with the note.
Thanks for getting involved and please spread the word to all your dive buddies. Your help is greatly appreciated.
